Digital Heritage : Museums, Archives and Local History
We’ve been working with museums, archives and local history societies for over a decade creating web sites, games, touch screen applications, interactives and large scale cross sector data search and aggregation systems. We provide strategic digital heritage consultancy services to some of the largest museum organisations in UK.

Proudly partnered with Collections Trust
For the past few years, we’ve become nationally recognised for our work with cross walking the many varied collection management system data sets into common interchanges and applications to allow the public and researchers alike unique insights into how the various services link up.
We’ve now crystallised that learning and skills base into our own enterprise scale Software As A Service digital heritage web application.
Comprising an API centric approach, the application runs across a distributed set of servers in three data centres with additional failover and redundancy provided by Amazon EC2 cluster.
We monolithically aggregate after normalising CALM (Museums, Archives), Adlib, MODES (Windows, XML), Exegesis HER, custom Access and Excel local history into a common interchange, and then index using Apache SOLR to produce a facet browesable, fast search engine.
We’ve created a multi-site customised WordPress setup with integrated search plugin, gallery, thesaurus and vocabulary server, object of the day and advanced search that collectively we call the CollectionsPress presentation server for CollectionsBase. With a special easy to use generic template builder, a custom designed specialist search interface over an archives data set, complete with full catalogue view can be created in: 5 minutes.
Also, did we mention: Museums, Archives and Local History societies can load and manage their data directly without having to send it to us. More information and prices for CollectionsBase.
